Treatment Methods

Therapeutic Ultrasound is one of the most common electrotherapy modalities used by physicians and physical therapists. A deep tissue heating modality reaching underlying tissues as deep as 1 to 5 centimeters, therapeutic ultrasound is used to treat musculo-skeletal injuries, back and joint conditions, limited range of motion, soft tissue injuries, and chronic conditions. Treatment is administered directly which penetrates the tissues, increases blood flow, relaxes muscle spasms, repairs damaged tissue, and dramatically speeds the healing process. It creates permanent, physical changes and repairs both hard and soft tissues.

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. A TENS Unit is an electrotherapy device used to help patients manage pain by blocking the patient's pain. It is as same as Interferential therapy (IFT). The difference between TENS and IFT is that IFT uses a medium high frequency compared to TENS. IFT can also cover larger surface area where the pain can be felt. It is used to treat all types of pain, from acute to chronic conditions. It can allow a person with chronic pain to tolerate activities they may otherwise not be able to handle.

Soft Tissue Manipulation / massage - Involves direct physical action on the muscle and other soft tissues.

Trigger Points - Provides relief from chronic muscle pain. It targets the muscles and promotes flexibility of the body's connective tissue.

Swedish Massage - Used to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from muscles.

Friction - Creates heat used to promote healing in an injured area.
